Marimekko Kitchen textiles
Kitchen textiles are the perfect way to add extra color and softness to your kitchen (a kitchen is essentially a rather chilly place with hard materials). Think tea towels, dishcloths, potholders, and an apron. Choose colors that complement your kitchen and the rest of your home, if you have a relatively open kitchen.
Kitchen textiles are also perfect for changing with the seasons; think fresh colors in spring/summer and warmer, wintery colors in fall/winter. This way, your kitchen will always have a slightly different look.
Marimekko serie Unikko
The Unikko design was created in 1964 by Maija Isola and has since become an international icon of marimekko. Marimekko's founder, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to capture the true essence of real flowers in print. That is why floral prints were previously excluded from Marimekko's collections.
Maija Isola therefore designed Unikko as an abstraction of a flower instead of a photorealistic representation. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko's design identity.
