The Klippan Yllefabrik AB was founded in 1879 in Sweden. At present, the fourth and fifth generations are developing the company. Klippan's philosophy is to combine Swedish design with their long tradition of textile knowledge.
Klippan Swedish design
The textile collection is composed by, among other things, entering into collaborations with well-known Swedish designers. All Klippan blankets and throws are manufactured in their own factory. For the production they only use natural materials and try to use as much eco-material as possible and for a while they also use recycled wool.
The family business Klippan Yllefabrik was founded when Jöns Petter Magnusson bought a wool spinning mill in the Swedish village of Klippan in 1879. The company grew over the years and Klippan Yllefabrik's main activity was manufacturing and selling yarns for hand weaving and for industrial use until the 1980s. In the 1970s, Klippan Yllefabrik became one of Scandinavia's most modern wool spinning factories with approximately 100 employees.
In the early 1990s, Klippan Yllefabrik began to focus more on home textiles.
For this they bought a wool spinning and weaving factory in Latvia to continue to manage the production themselves and to keep full control of quality. Today, the 100% subsidiary Klippan Saule produces yarn, throws, blankets and fabric.

The most important, best-known and most popular products from Klippan are the wonderfully warm plaids. The plaids have beautiful designs, beautiful colors and feel wonderful. The choice in the collection is enormous, which is why there is a suitable plaid for everyone in their favorite color or the color that best suits the sofa. A plaid is a real utensil in Scandinavia. Not only do they crawl under it on the couch, but they also take them to a picnic, to the beach or to stay warm outside on a cool evening by the campfire.
Klippan's philosophy is to use only natural fibers such as wool, linen and cotton for their Swedish design products. A high-quality fiber is essential to be able to deliver consistently high quality and a beautiful result. That is why they have chosen to do all their purchasing of raw materials themselves, so that they have insight and insight into this.
