The Danish Studio About (formerly "About form and function") is located in Aarhus and founded by architect Mikkel Mikkelsen and photographer Soffy Dombernowsky.
Timeless design
Their ambition is to design and create simple, aesthetic and functional interior objects that will last a lifetime. Both in quality of material and in aesthetic lifespan. Objects that can last for generations. By experimenting with material and design, they have been able to reduce their designs to the essentials. The result is beautiful designs that fit the needs of a creative and experimental modern lifestyle.
The packaging (FSC certified) of their objects is designed in such a way that it takes up as little space as possible, as little space as possible between object and packaging and that it can be reused if possible. Studio About wants to inspire people and companies to focus on the environment by making more sustainable and quality-conscious purchases.
Studio About is also looking for partnerships with people and companies that also care about the environment. They are currently working with Forest Nation to offset their footprint.
Glass vases collection
The Studio About collection consists mainly of glass objects from vases in various shapes and sizes to glass candles that you can fill with lamp oil. Striking about their collection are the beautiful colors in combination with clear transparent glass, so that objects seem to float. This effect is evident in the Flower Tubes and the bubble tube vase. The beautiful ball vases that you can hang with the included leather cord is really an eye-catcher at home. Fill it with water and place a beautiful flower in it, in a tone-on-tone color or contrasting.
All glass objects are blown by mouth in the strong material borosilicate glass that is resistant to high temperatures. So you don't have to worry about the glass cracking. Borosilicate glass is the same type of glass used for making laboratory equipment, such as test tubes and vials. This also means that the colors do not fade during use because the glass is colored through and through.
