Marimekko Unikko towel 30x30cm cotton linen mix dark blue

Beautiful Unikko towel from Marimekko in dark blue, 30x30cm. The towel is made of a cotton-linen blend and features a terry weave, making it wonderfully soft and easy to dry. There's a loop halfway along the long side for hanging. The towel is made of 10% linen and 90% organic cotton.

Marimekko Unikko dessin

The Unikko (poppy) design was born in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, announced that Marimekko would never print a floral pattern. Maija Isola refused to follow Armi's orders and - in protest - created a whole series of beautiful floral prints. One of them was Unikko, which has become a story of creativity, strength, courage and confidence in itself.
