Kay Bojesen - Songbird Nightingale

The beech wood nightingale is inspired by the famous fairy tale of the same name by H.C. Andersen. The fairy tale was published in 1843 and tells the story of a nightingale whose song enchanted the emperor. When the emperor received a mechanical nightingale, he forgot about the real nightingale, which subsequently flew away. When the emperor became terminally ill, the nightingale returned and cured the emperor with its beautiful song. The colors of the nightingale figurine are inspired by the beautiful Chinese nightingale.
